Toronto Caribbean Carnival celebrating 55 Years of freedom

Following two years of lockdown from the pandemic, Toronto Caribbean Carnival, which culminates as a 4-day celebration on July 28-31, 2022 returns to Toronto.

Also known as Caribana, the Toronto Caribbean Carnival , is an annual Caribbean Carnival Celebration held in Toronto, Canada every summer attended by over a million people and is North America’s largest carnival celebration.

First gifted to Canada by the Caribbean Community during Canada’s centennial celebrations, theToronto Caribbean Carnival is celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Grande Parade with a spectacular display of costumes, music, and culture. 

Dedicated to celebrating Caribbean culture, Caribana festival is a fusion of all the different and vibrant Caribbean cultures. 

Toronto Caribbean Carnival celebrates Caribbean music, cuisine, dance, traditions, costumes, and of course revelry and an incredible display of visual and performing arts!

The annual Caribbean Carnival is appropriately celebrated on what has been recognized by the Canadian government as Emancipation Day weekend following the Caribbean tradition of parading through the street founded in celebration of freedom and emancipation from slavery.

Besides following a format that is very similar to the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, the Toronto Caribbean Carnival is also influenced by all the different cultures of Caribbean islands.
