Toronto/cmedia: Virtual celebration of “Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2022” was organized by Canada India Foundation in association with Consulate Toronto on Jan 11, 2022, with the theme of the celebration “Canada & India, Opportunities and Challenges“.

The event was inaugurated by Anita Anand, Minister of National Defense of Canada and a prominent Indio-Canadian along with High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria and Consul General Apoorva Srivastava.

The program featured eminent panelists and expert speakers who gave suggestions for forging stronger India Canada ties.

The first session on “Strong India-Canada engagement to speed up economic recovery” was discussed by former High Commissioner of Canada to India Mr. Stewart Beck, Chief Trade Commissioner Ms. Sara Wilshaw, Mr. Gary Comerford, President, and CEO of Canada-India Business Council, Mr. Vijendra Gairola. Executive Chairman, Induscann Biogrowth, India, Mr. Ajay Ramasubramaniam, Founder & CEO Startup Réseau.

Moderated by Mr. Yudhvir Jaswal, CEO, Y Media Group, the second session on “Deepening ties: Role of
diaspora” saw the participation of Chandra Arya, Member of Parliament, Prasad Panda-Minister of
Infrastructure, Alberta, and Ms. Nina Tangri. The session also focused on the role of Indo-Canadian
diaspora in enhancing a deeper economic engagement between India and Canada.
