IBNS-CMEDIA: The word Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been buzzing ever since it emerged in the technological world and now the AI-generated models and influencers are going to compete to win a beauty pageant titled ‘Miss AI’.

The contest is being organised by The World AI Creator Awards (WAICAs), a global awards programme which aims to recognise the achievements of AI creators around the world.

As per WAICA’s website, “The first instalment of the WAICAs is Miss AI – where traditional beauty pageantry is crossing the world of AI creators. Contestants will be judged on their beauty, tech, and clout for the chance to earn the Miss AI crown.”

Describing the Miss AI title, the website said: “Miss AI is the world’s first beauty pageant for AI-generated models brought to you by Fanvue. Its launch comes almost 200 years after the very first beauty pageant took place and will celebrate the technical skill and work behind digital influencer personas from across the world. The competition is also part of the wider awards programme World AI Creator Awards (WAICAs) which seeks to celebrate creators at the forefront of AI.”

To participate in the event, one has to be the creator behind an AI-generated model and have a social media presence.

The participant should be 18 years old to take part in the contest.

Interestingly, the hosts are not charging any registration fee for the event.

Rewards

The top three winning Miss AI contestants will be awarded prizes totalling over USD 20k, including a USD 5k cash prize to the winner, plus AI mentorship programmes, PR services and more, courtesy of WAICA partner, Fanvue, the website said.

The winners of the contest will reportedly be announced on May 10.

The panel includes two AI-generated judges.

These judges are Aitana Lopez from Spain and Emily Pellegrini.

However, the other two judges of the panel are humans.

They are Andrew Bloch, an entrepreneur and Lord Sugar’s PR adviser, and Sally-Ann Fawcett, a beauty pageant historian and author of the book Misdemeanours: Beauty Queen Scandals.

“It’s been a fast learning curve expanding my knowledge on AI creators, and it’s quite incredible what is possible,” Fawcett said in a statement as quoted by Forbes.

Meet Aitana Lopez

Aitana Lopez, 25, is not a real model and yet she is followed by 300,000 followers on Instagram.

The pink-haired woman from Barcelona is the first artificial intelligence (AI)-generated model in Spain and she earns up to 10,000 euros, or USD 11,000, a month.

Rubén Cruz, her designer and founder of the agency The Clueless, said she was created at a time when the company was going through a tough period.

“We started analysing how we were working and realised that many projects were being put on hold or cancelled due to problems beyond our control. Often it was the fault of the influencer or model and not due to design issues,” Cruz told Euronews.

“We did it so that we could make a better living and not be dependent on other people who have egos, who have manias, or who just want to make a lot of money by posing,” said Cruz.
