IBNS-CMEDIA: A college building constructed with financial assistance from the Government of India was recently inaugurated in Doti district of Nepal’s Sudurpaschim Province.
The newly built Shree Kedar Jyotipunja Multiple Campus comprises a two-storey academic block with seven rooms on each floor, along with allied facilities. The project was executed under the Government of India’s High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) initiative, according to a statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Nepal.
The project was implemented through the Badikedar Rural Municipality in Doti district.
The Shree Kedar Jyotipunja Multiple Campus, affiliated with Tribhuvan University, offers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) programmes.
“The Chairman of Badikedar Rural Municipality, members of the Campus Management Committee and other stakeholders appreciated the development support being extended by the Government of India,” the Indian Embassy said in the statement.
They noted that the new infrastructure would significantly strengthen educational facilities in the region and improve access to quality higher education for local students.
According to the Embassy, since the launch of the HICDP programme, the Government of India has undertaken nearly 600 projects across all seven provinces of Nepal, covering 74 districts in sectors such as education, health and community infrastructure.
Of these, 47 projects are located in Sudurpaschim Province, including four projects in Doti district.
In addition, the Government of India has gifted 78 ambulances and 40 school buses to institutions working in the health and education sectors across Sudurpaschim Province. Of these, nine ambulances and three school buses have been provided to institutions in Doti district.
