New Delhi/IBNS-CMEDIA: Classes at Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia University have shifted to online mode after protesters demanding student union elections clashed with security guards, media reports said.
The protesters have been demanding the restoration of the Jamia Millia Islamia Students’ Union (JMISU), which was disbanded in 2006 following campus violence that disrupted academic activities.
Registrar alleges campus disruption
Jamia Registrar Mahtab Alam Razvi alleged that the clash took place a day after Congress MPs Imran Pratapgarhi and Imran Masood entered the campus by jumping over a wall, disrupting the campus environment, NDTV reported.
Razvi said a complaint had been filed with the Delhi Police over the incident.
The university has moved classes online amid the unrest on campus.
