Toronto/CMEDIA: Advance voting for Canada’s 45th federal general election will take place on Friday, April 18; Saturday, April 19; Sunday, April 20; and Monday, April 21.

Running  for four consecutive days, the early voting period will be from April 18 to 21 with polling stations open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at designated locations within each riding.

Voters can visit the Elections Canada website to find their nearest advance polling location and ensure they bring appropriate identification when casting their ballot.

For those unable to vote during the advance polling period or on general election day—Monday, April 28, when polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.—an alternative option is available when eligible voters can cast their ballot in person at any Elections Canada office across the country until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22.

To vote, electors must prove their identity and address. The list of accepted ID is online.

Electors can find the address of their assigned polling station either on the back of their voter information card, by visiting elections.ca and entering their postal code, or by calling 1-800-463-6868.

Electors can also vote early By mail, by applying online by Tuesday, April 22, 6 p.m., and returning their special ballot by mail (deadlines apply).

If the return envelope is addressed to their local Elections Canada office, they can also drop off their ballot in person at that office before polls close on election day.

To help ensure smooth operations at voting stations on election day, Elections Canada is still actively recruiting poll workers in many local ridings. Interested individuals, including youth aged 16 and older are encouraged to apply online.

More than 5.8 million Canadians voted early in the last federal election held in 2021, contributing to a total voter turnout of 62.6 per cent.
