Toronto/CMEDIA: Following the closure of Toronto Public Health (TPH) and recent renovations to improve service delivery, Toronto has reopened its North York Sexual Health Clinic, formerly known as the Talk Shop Clinic.
“Reopening the North York Sexual Health Clinic provides residents with access to free, confidential, stigma-free care close to home. We know that sexually transmitted and bloodborne infections account for approximately 80 percent of all diseases of public health significance reported to Toronto Public Health. This highlights the ongoing need for accessible, community-based sexual health services across the city,”
Dr. Michelle Murti, Medical Officer of Health has said.
Access to free and confidential sexual health services has been restored by its reopening in this densely populated and diverse part of the city.
Having modernized the North York Sexual Health Clinic and improving accessibility, the renovations have created a more welcoming and comfortable environment for clients.
Included in the upgrades are a fully wheelchair accessible exam room and washroom to support the delivery of high-quality, inclusive care.
