Toronto police arrests man in multiple retail robbery investigations

Toronto/CMEDIA: The Toronto public is made aware of an arrest of Jason Kistindey, 54, of Toronto by Toronto Police Service in multiple Retail Robbery investigations.

Between Sat May 20, 2023 and Tuesday, January 23, 2024, seven robbery calls in the Danforth Avenue and Pape AvenueYonge Street and Finch Avenue West and,  Kingston Road and Victoria Park Avenue areas were responded to by police.

It is alleged that in each incident the suspect entered retail business while wearing a mask to disguise their identity, the suspect produced a knife and made a demand for cash and the suspect took a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene.

Following an investigation, the members of the Hold Up Squad were able to identify the suspect on Sat, May 4, 2024, who was already in custody on an unrelated matter.

Jason Kistindey, 54, of Toronto, was charged with seven counts of Robbery With Offensive Weapon, seven counts of Disguise With Intent, and Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 106.
