RCMP have issued a dangerous person alert across Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba, after multiple people were stabbed early Sunday morning in James Smith Cree Nation and the nearby village of Weldon, Sask.

Police have confirmed that 10 people are dead and at least 15 people have been hospitalized following a stabbing spree in 13 different locations.

“There may be additional injured victims who transported themselves to various hospitals,” said Rhonda Blackmore, commanding officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP.

The two suspects — Damien Sanderson, 31, and Myles Sanderson, 30 — are still at large and likely in Regina, said Regina police Chief Evan Bray. They have been reportedly seen in a black Nissan Rogue with Saskatchewan license plate 119 MPI.

Damien is described as five feet seven inches tall and 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes while Myles is described as six feet and one inch tall and 240 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

At the news conference, Blackmore said the relationship between the suspects is still unclear.

Regina residents are being asked by the Police to take precautions and consider sheltering in place and were also advised by Blackmore to be careful about allowing others into their home and to not leave a secure location.
