Enhancing, revamping New Brunswick Museum’s website to boost tourism

Saint John (New Brunswick)/ CMEDIA: An announcement of reportedly an investment of $107,190 for the New Brunswick Museum  was made today by Wayne Long, Member of Parliament for Saint John, Rothesay, on behalf of Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA.

“The New Brunswick Museum is making history with a groundbreaking capital project…enhancing the museum’s website…to broaden access to New Brunswick’s rich cultural and educational assets, reaching not only Canadians but also our global visitors.” Tracy Clinch, Board Chair, NB Museum said.

By supporting tourism operators and cultural institutions, the Government of Canada  aids to fuel local economies, creating jobs and empowering communities in showcasing Atlantic Canada’s beauty, diverse cultural heritage with unique stories on the world stage .  

Paving the way for future growth of this Museum, this investment enables it to hire expertise to revamp and enhance its website by the digital enhancements to boost public access to its exhibits and collections, and attract visitors.

Included in the key initiatives would be digitizing current activities and collections, creating original content like educational materials and virtual activities to enrich both in-person and online experiences as well as  optimizing the new website for smartphones and tablets to offer an engaging experience.

“New technology is making museums easier to access than ever. ACOA is helping the NB Museum go digital so more people can dive into New Brunswick’s past—and give tourism a boost!,” Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA said.

The Government of Canada’s commitment to help grow Atlantic Canada’s tourism sector further demonstrates today’s announcement to showcase the region’s diverse experiences to visitors from around the world.
