The Canadian International Air Show is set to return to the skies above Toronto’s waterfront from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept 3, 4, and 5, closing out the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) and celebrating the Labour Day weekend.
Residents were reminded by the Toronto police that the air show during the weekend would be accompanied by the sound of jet engines audible across the city’s downtown.
The show will feature the Canadian Snowbirds, set to perform aerobatics during the 73rd annual air show, and can best be viewed from the lakefront area. Police reminded drivers not to stop their cars on busy routes to take in the show.
Founded in 1879, the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is Canada’s largest annual community event. As the Toronto Industrial Exhibition, the CNE is a not-for-profit organization that has enjoyed a distinguished history as a showcase of the nation. Latest innovations in technology and commercial products can be experienced by the people. People also enjoy the popular entertainers of the time and engage in a collective community celebration.
Over the years, the CNE has changed but it still continues to be one of Ontario’s great annual traditions and is currently one of the 10 largest fairs in North America reflecting the diversity of audience in Toronto and the region.
