IBNS-CMEDIA: In a U-turn from his previous statement, former South African cricket great AB de Villiers said it is not true that India’s batting icon Virat Kohli and his actress wife Anushka Sharma were expecting their second child and he had shared false information previously.
Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, AB said, “Family comes first it’s the priority as I said on my YouTube channel.”
He added, “I made a terrible mistake at the same time, sharing false information, which was not true at all.
“I think whatever’s best for Virat’s family comes first. No one knows what’s happening there, all I can do is wish him well. Whatever the reason for his break, I hope he can comeback stronger, better and fresh from this.”
Referring to a text message he exchanged with Kohli, AB, who was on YouTube live days ago, spoke about the Indian batter skipping the first two Tests and went on to say the celebrity couple are expecting their second child.
“His second child is on the way. It’s family time,” the former South African cricketer said and added, “I think most people’s priority is family. You cannot judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him but he has made the right decision.”
The speculation started after Anushka kept herself low profile for some time. In an unfamiliar scene, she also missed attending several of India’s matches.
Months ago, a news report had claimed Anushka and Virat had visited a maternity clinic and she asked the paparazzi not to publish their pictures.
Anushka and Virat, a powerful celebrity couple in India, tied their nuptial knot at a private ceremony in Italy in 2017. The couple were blessed with a baby girl in 2021.
On the work front, Anushka will next feature in Chakda Xpress.
