Los Angeles/IBNS-CMEDIA: Joined by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, actor Javier Bardem raised an anti-war and “Free Palestine” message during the 98th Academy Awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The duo presented the Best International Feature Film award, which went to the Norwegian film Sentimental Value.

As they arrived on stage, Javier Bardem said, “No to war and free Palestine,” drawing loud cheers from the audience. Priyanka, dressed in a strapless white gown, nodded with a smile.

Amid ongoing conflicts in different parts of the world, Bardem also wore a “No to War” pin on his tuxedo, reinforcing the Spanish actor’s anti-war message.

Directed by Joachim Trier, Sentimental Value, released in 2025, has become one of the most talked-about international films of the year.

The story revolves around two sisters, Nora and Agnes, who reunite with their estranged father Gustav, a once-famous filmmaker who abandoned the family years earlier.

After their mother dies, Gustav returns with a proposal: he wants Nora, a stage actress, to star in his comeback film. She refuses because of their painful past.

Gustav then casts a young Hollywood actress, which deepens family tensions and forces everyone to confront unresolved emotions about memory, guilt, art and forgiveness.
