Indian PM Modi Discusses Tech Collaboration With Elon Musk In A Phone Call

IBNS-CMEDia: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Friday spoke to tech entrepreneur Elon Musk on telephone during which they discussed the scope of collaboration between India and the USA in the field of technology and innovation.

After his conversation, Modi wrote on X, “Spoke to @elonmusk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation.”

“India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains,” he said.

India is facing a 26 per cent reciprocal tariff imposed by President Trump.

Last week, Trump announced a 90-day delay in imposing the reciprocal tariff on all nations except China.

Piyush Goyal Meets Starlink Delegation

Indian Minister Piyush Goyal recently met a delegation representing entrepreneur Elon Musk-owned Starlink, when they discussed their existing partnerships and future investment plans in India.

Speaking about the meeting, Goyal wrote on X: “Met a delegation from @Starlink, comprising of Vice President Chad Gibbs & Senior Director, Ryan Goodnight.”

“Discussions covered Starlink’s cutting-edge technology platform, their existing partnerships & future investment plans in India,” he said.

Airtel and Jio, India’s major private telecom operators, recently partnered with Starlink to bring its high-speed satellite internet services to their customers in the South Asian nation.

The development occurred just days after US President Donald Trump inauguration for the second term took place.

Elon Musk is a close aide of Trump.

Starlink claims it delivers high-speed, low-latency internet to users all over the world.
