Manitoba unveils details a new spring legislative agenda, a news release said.
Details of a new spring legislative agenda is reportedly being unveiled by the Manitoba government including the following:
- Proposed amendments to the Municipal Councils and School Boards Elections Amendment and Public Schools Amendment Act would facilitate Manitobans, including those living on reserves, to vote in school board elections, no matter where they live.
- Amendments to the oil and gas act to enhance the reliability of pipelines carrying refined petroleum products and update notification requirements in the event of an emergency shutdown.
- Housing and Renewal Corporation Act’s Proposed amendments requiring approval from the Manitoba Housing and Renewal Corporation for any change of ownership, change of use or demolition of any building that is acquired, built or renovated with funding from or through the Manitoba government.
- The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act would be affected by proposed amendments to grant Manitoba government authority to create regulation to prohibit urban convenience stores from selling liquor, keeping it out of sight for Manitobans under the age of 18 years.
- Proposed amendments to the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act would ensure the sale of cannabis in Winnipeg and other urban areas is confined to age-restricted stores to reduce the potential for people under the age of 19 years to access cannabis products.
