IBNS-CMEDIA: A new feature has been added to YouTube Music that will surely draw the attention and appreciation of users.
According to reports, an all-new “double-tap to like” has now been added to the app, which is expected to help netizens use it with more ease.
With the new feature being added, users can double-tap on the centre of the album cover while a song is playing to like it instantly.
Once you do that, the track automatically gets added to your Liked Songs playlist, reported Moneycontrol.
Several popular apps like TikTok and Instagram Reels have provided users with a similar feature in the past.
Now, with the latest addition, YouTube Music has joined the trend.
Version
YouTube Music v8.14.53A is rolling out the ability to double-tap to like songs. Strings for this feature were added back in version 8.03.51, but now the feature is rolling out to users, reported by Android Authority.
Earlier, double-tapping at the centre of the album made no difference, and once performing the same act on the sides would seek the song in the tapped direction.
Consistent Volume
Back in 2023, YouTube introduced a new option to normalise audio volume between videos. Now we’re hearing about something very similar making its way to YouTube Music, reported Android Authority.
“Two years ago, YouTube introduced its ‘stable volume’ toggle, designed to minimize jarring transitions as you move from clip to clip,” the news portal reported.
The new feature is now reportedly being added to the app with a slight rebranding in the process.
Compared to the main app where it can be quickly toggled on/off via in-player settings, YouTube Music places Consistent volume in the settings menu, reported 9To5Google.
The option has been spotted in the YouTube Music app on iOS.
“Consistent volume is not yet widely rolled out. We’re seeing it with version 8.15 for iPhone, but it’s not on our Android devices, though others already have it,” reported 9TO5Google.
Android Authority, however, quoted a Reddit user as saying it was spotted in playback settings on version 8.15.51 of YouTube Music for Android.
