Toronto/CMEDIA: In an effort to expand opportunities for Torontonians to receive COVID-19 vaccinations, Toronto Public Health (TPH), is partnering with more festivals and events to provide pop-up COVID-19 clinics across the city this July.

One part of Team Toronto’s ongoing efforts to provide COVID-19 vaccination opportunities in places where residents live, work, and play is bringing COVID-19 vaccines to fun summer events.

“COVID-19 vaccination remains the best protection for you, your family, and friends…Team Toronto is… making it easier for people to get the dose they need throughout the summer,” said Toronto Mayor John Tory in today’s news release.

TPH is hosting COVID-19 vaccination clinics at the following special events in the next few weeks:

First, second, third, fourth, and children’s COVID-19 doses to eligible residents age five and older on a walk-in basis will be provided by these family-friendly and youth-friendly clinics with no appointments or a health card required.

Besides offering Pfizer and Moderna, TPH nurses will also answer COVID-19 and vaccine-related questions.

Further information about location and hours of operation is available on the City of Toronto’s COVID-19: Pop-Up Immunization Clinics webpage.

More than 400 vaccination clinics in schools across Toronto this summer are also being hosted to provide COVID-19 vaccines and hepatitis B, meningococcal and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines.

TPH Appointment Booking System provides the necessary clinic information, including locations and hours of operations.

A health card is not required to book an appointment.

A COVID-19 vaccination can be received either at the same time as, or any time before or after the other vaccinations.

City-run immunization clinics, primary care offices, and more than 525 pharmacies are also offering COVID-19 vaccination to Toronto residents.

With summer hours now in effect at City-run clinics, they can accommodate when most Toronto residents can attend.

A full list of clinic locations and hours is available on the City’s COVID-19: Where to Get Vaccinated webpage.

Province’s website provides pharmacy locations that administer COVID-19 vaccines.

Effective July 7, TPH and Team Toronto have administered more than 7.1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

Health officials encourage all eligible residents to get their third and fourth doses as soon as possible to be best protected by their updated COVID-19 vaccinations.

Having been scientifically proven to lower the risk of illness, hospitalization, and death, COVID-19 vaccinations protect people, their loved ones, and the community.

“Vaccines are our best protection against serious health consequences from COVID-19…up to date with your vaccinations…Team Toronto’s continued efforts… encouraging everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible to help protect themselves and our city,” said Councillor Joe Mihevc (Spadina-Fort York), Chair of the Board of Health.

Residents with three doses have had the lowest rates of hospitalization, ICU admissions, and death over any other level of vaccination.

“I encourage everyone to get vaccinated this summer with all the doses for which they are eligible…take advantage of the summer clinics…so please take advantage of these summer clinics in order to protect yourself, family, friends, and co-workers from a serious illness,” said Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health.
