Toronto Police Service arrests two Youths May 7 in Carjacking Investigation

Toronto/CMEDIA: The Toronto Police Service has reportedly arrested two  youths May 7 in a Carjacking investigation.

The police responded to a robbery call in the Finch Avenue East and Brimley Road area on Monday, May 6, 2024, at approximately 5:45 p.m.

It is alleged that after the victim parked their vehicle in a parking lot, two suspects travelling in a stolen vehicle parked beside the victim. As the victim exited his vehicle, the suspects wearing masks approached the victime and one suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and a struggle followed. But the suspect took the victim’s purse and removed a quantity of cash. When the suspects failed to enter the victim’s vehicle, they dropped the victim’s purse and fled the area in the stolen vehicle they arrived in.

The victim called the police on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, reporting the theft of their vehicle in the Finch Avenue East and Brimley Road area at approximately 12:52 p.m. alleging that after the victim parked their car in a parking lot, two suspects travelling in a stolen vehicle parked nearby, broke into the victim’s vehicle and drove it away from the area.

After Toronto police officers from 42 Division located both stolen vehicles and the two suspects in the Sheppard Avenue East and Kennedy Road area on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the suspects began to flee on foot but officers were able to arrest them after a short foot pursuit.

Two male youths aged respectively 16, and 15 were arrested and charged with robbery, theft of Motor Vehicle, two counts of Disguise With Intent, four counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime, six and seven counts respectively of Fail to Comply Undertaking

They were scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 606.
