IBNS-CMEDIA: Technology giant ASUS on Tuesday unveiled a new generation of AI-powered service robotics at COMPUTEX 2026, introducing the Next-Generation Companion Robot and ASUS Kairo, both designed to enhance care, assistance, and service experiences through advanced artificial intelligence.
Powered by ASUS Maestro AI, the robots are aimed at delivering practical, proactive, and human-centered support across home, healthcare, and service environments.
The Next-Generation Companion Robot is an always-on, AI-powered assistant designed to provide personalized support, particularly for seniors and individuals requiring daily assistance. Equipped with conversational AI capabilities, the robot can engage users naturally, helping foster long-term relationships through meaningful interactions.
Leveraging Agentic AI technology, the companion robot can translate user intent into action by managing complex tasks such as drafting messages on supported applications like LINE, initiating video check-ins, and organizing personal content, including photos, schedules, and reminders.
ASUS said the robot can continue interacting with users even when they are away from home through connected messaging platforms. With authorized access to personal information and previous interactions, it can remember important life events, relationships, and personal preferences, enabling increasingly personalized support over time.
Alongside the companion robot, ASUS introduced ASUS Kairo, an autonomous service robot engineered for operation in dynamic and complex environments. The robot supports guided navigation, follow-me assistance, and real-time information delivery through a modular platform that can be adapted for various applications.
Featuring emotion-aware AI and multilingual capabilities, ASUS Kairo can adjust its communication style in real time, providing clear instructions and assistance while escorting users through different environments. Initially validated for healthcare deployments, ASUS said the robot is also suitable for hospitality, retail, and other service-intensive sectors.
At the core of both robots is ASUS Maestro, the company’s unified AI orchestration platform. Acting as a central intelligence hub, ASUS Maestro connects robots, IoT devices, enterprise systems, and workflows through standardized API-based integration and automated task execution.
The platform enables seamless collaboration between the Next-Generation Companion Robot, ASUS Kairo, and ASUS Sage, ASUS’s virtual AI agent designed for digital customer interactions.
Through agent-to-agent coordination, ASUS Maestro can receive user instructions, assign tasks to the appropriate robotic or virtual agent, oversee execution, and notify users upon completion.
Designed for large-scale deployment, ASUS Maestro supports cross-brand robots and IoT devices across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, positioning it as a comprehensive operational backbone for future intelligent service ecosystems.
