California/IBNS-CMEDIA: Tech billionaire Elon Musk has once again captured attention on social media with a cryptic update to his X profile. On Tuesday (Dec. 31), Musk changed his display name to “Kekius Maximus” and swapped his profile picture to a meme of Pepe the Frog.
The chosen image depicts Pepe in golden armour, holding a video game controller—a playful nod to the meme’s enduring influence on internet culture, symbolising humour, absurdity, and rebellion.
The name “Kekius Maximus” has drawn particular interest, as it references internet meme culture and a cryptocurrency token of the same name.
This meme-inspired crypto project operates on platforms like Ethereum and Solana and has recently surged in popularity.

As of Dec. 27, the token’s value skyrocketed by 497.56 percent, reaching approximately $0.005667.
Despite the connection, Musk has not confirmed whether his profile changes are related to the token or are simply for amusement.
He fueled speculation further with a post on X, jokingly claiming, “Kekius Maximus will soon reach level 80 in hardcore PoE,” referencing the video game ‘Path of Exile’, known for its intricate mechanics.
Musk’s ties to cryptocurrency are well-known, and his tweets often influence digital currency trends. This update comes shortly after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced Musk as head of the newly proposed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—a humorous nod to Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency Musk has championed. The department aims to streamline government operations.
Musk is no stranger to social media antics. In January 2023, he famously changed his display name to “Mr. Tweet” and joked that he was unable to revert it.
By blending technology, humour, and cryptocurrency, Musk continues to keep the internet buzzing, leaving fans and critics alike guessing about his next move.
