Samsung, Google, Vivo, OnePlus, Motorola gear up to launch new smartphones in May 2024

New Delhi/IBNS-CMEDIA: Top smartphone brands such as Samsung, Vivo, Google, OnePlus and Motorola have lined up to unveil their latest innovative devices in May, 2024, in a wide range of price bands in India.

According to experts, besides innovation and new features, the competitive landscape in the smartphone market promises to drive affordability, and value for money across different segments, catering to a wide spectrum of user preferences and needs.

Top smartphones launching this month:

Vivo V30e:

After introducing V30 and V30 Pro, Vivo has launched the V30e in India within the sub-Rs 30,000 price range.

Vivo has launched the V30e in two variants — the base variant has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and priced at Rs. 27,999, while its second variant offers 256GB of storage with the same RAM and is priced at Rs. 29,999.

Both variants of Vivo V30e use LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

The smartphone has a 6.78-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display offers a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.

V30e is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset built on the 4nm TSMC process, coupled with the Adreno 710 GPU. 

V30e runs Vivo’s Funtouch OS 14 which is based on Android 14..

The smartphone comes with a dual-rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.79 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

The smartphone sports a 50-megapixel front camera with an f/2.45 aperture.

OnePlus Nord 4:

OnePlus is reportedly all set to launch Nord 4 smartphone, succeeding its popular Nord 3 model.

According to sources, the smartphone is expected to be priced under Rs 35,000.

There are speculations that Nord 4 could be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 3V, while anticipated specs in the upcoming smartphone include the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAB and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Reports suggest that OnePlus Nord 4 might deliver robust performance and advanced AI capabilities.

Samsung Galaxy F55:

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy F55 this month, which could be a rebranded version of the Galaxy M55 5G, reports said.

According to reports, the smartphone would be loaded with competitive features and specs.

It is expected that the price of this mid-range segment smartphone would start at Rs 26,999.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra:

Motorola, after the successful launch of its Edge 50 Pro, has lined up to release the Edge 50 Ultra this month.

The new smartphone from Motorola is expected to feature a display with 144Hz display, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, and up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM.

This device is anticipated to come with a 50 MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 64 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

Google Pixel 8a

Google is expected to introduce Pixel 8a smartphone at the upcoming Google I/O conference on May 14.

There are speculations that the smartphone will be equipped with Tensor G3 chipset.

Rumours suggest that Pixel 8a will boast seven years of security updates.
