Mumbai/IBNS: Indian actress Rhea Chakraborty was in the eye of a storm over a drug case linked to the death of her actor boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput three years ago.

Cut to 2023, Rhea has come up with her own explanations recalling the days when she was arrested in the drugs case which is being probed by the Narcotics Control Bureau.

When Rhea was bluntly asked at the India Today Conclave Mumbai 2023 whether she had supplied drugs to Sushant, the actress said, “No, and secondly, I am done with this topic. I don’t want to talk about drugs, I don’t want to talk about NCB. I don’t want to talk about the CBI.

“Let the agencies do their jobs and let us do our jobs. How about you talk to me about my mental health and how the hell did I get out of that and sit on this chair to talk to you? How about that?”

Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which had procured online chats pertaining to drug consumption, procurement, usage and transportation in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

The investigation had created far-fetching impacts with the NCB summoning top Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan in connection with the drug case.

On June 14, 2020, Sushant, who was back then one of the rising Bollywood stars, was found hanging at his own flat.

Sushant, who was 34 when he died, is best remembered for his essaying of cricket legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni on-screen in ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’.

A former popular television actor, Sushant got recognition in Bollywood with films ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, ‘PK’, ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’, ‘Kedarnath’, ‘Chhichhore’ alongside ‘Kai Po Che’.

His last film ‘Dil Bechara’, a Hindi adaptation of an American film based on John Green’s novel with the same title ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, was released after his death. Sushant had co-acted with young Sanjana Sanghi in the film.
