IBNS-CMEDIA: Indian Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh will undertake an official visit to Cyprus and Greece from October 12 to 15, 2026, to strengthen defence and strategic cooperation with the two European countries.

“Maritime security and defence industrial cooperation will remain prominent themes during the discussions with both the countries,” according to an official statement issued by the Indian government.

During the first leg of his visit to Cyprus on October 12–13, Singh is scheduled to meet his counterparts in the Cypriot Ministry of Defence and call on the country’s leadership.

Following the visit of the President of Cyprus to India in May 2026, the India-Cyprus Strategic Partnership has gained further momentum.

The Defence Secretary’s visit is expected to reaffirm the two countries’ shared commitment to deepening and expanding bilateral engagement, particularly in the maritime domain.

During the second leg of his visit, Singh will interact with Greece’s senior defence and military leadership.

The Greek Minister of National Defence visited India in February 2026 and held talks with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. These high-level exchanges reflect the growing partnership between India and Greece in the defence and strategic sectors.

Singh’s visit assumes added significance as India seeks to strengthen defence and strategic cooperation with its European Union partners following the signing of the landmark India-EU Security and Defence Partnership.

The visit is expected to provide further impetus to India’s defence engagement with Cyprus and Greece, with maritime security and defence industrial cooperation featuring prominently in bilateral discussions.
