Quebec COVID-19 hospitalizations become stable, but deaths pile up

Montreal/CMEDIA: Hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in Quebec reportedly remained unchanged in the last few hours, but new deaths have continued to pile up.

Health authorities have reported that of the 12 more people who died from the disease, two have died in the last 24 hours.

A total of 18,049 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic in Quebec.

There has been a slight drop in hospitalizations by seven to 1,313, and of these patients, 436 were treated for COVID-19.

COVID-19 accounted for more than 2,100 health professionals being absent from work.

There has been a stability in the number of new cases, with a total of 563. Quebecers also reported 41 positive cases detected by rapid tests.

On Wednesday 1,710 doses of the vaccine were administered.
