Mumbai/IBNS-CMEDIA: Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas is set to star alongside Academy Award winner Russell Crowe in the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Bluefly, Deadline has reported.
The film will be directed by Nimród Antal, best known for the Hollywood action thriller Predators. Additional cast members are expected to be announced in the coming months.
A high-stakes mission in the Congo
According to Deadline, Bluefly follows a gripping black-ops mission set in the heart of the Congo.
The film’s synopsis reads: “Deep in the Congo, a grieving UN translator is pulled onto a black-ops mission to recover a downed aircraft that isn’t supposed to exist.
“As a Special Operations team pushes upriver through militia-held territory, the recovery becomes a descent — and the closer they get to the craft, the clearer it becomes that they were never meant to bring it home.”
Set for TIFF market launch
The film is expected to be introduced to international buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) Market.
Production details, including the shooting schedule and theatrical release date, are yet to be officially announced.

Bluefly marks another significant Hollywood venture for Priyanka Chopra Jonas as she continues to expand her international film portfolio.

Busy with Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’
Priyanka is currently filming Varanasi, an upcoming Telugu-language action-adventure directed by S. S. Rajamouli.
The film also stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran and has already generated considerable global buzz.
Varanasi is slated for a grand theatrical release on April 7, 2027.
