IBNS-CMEDIA: The US government will soon issue specially designed passports featuring an image of President Donald Trump, according to media reports citing a State Department official.

The official told CNN that the passport “will be the default passport out of the Washington Passport Agency when available” for those renewing their passports in person at that location.

“Online options or other locations will maintain the existing passport design,” the official added.

The inclusion of Trump’s likeness in the US passport is the latest example of his image being used on commemorative items released to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.

According to a mock-up of the passport, Trump’s face and his signature in gold will appear inside the document, which serves as an international travel identification and remains valid for 10 years.

The passports, expected to be released this summer, are part of the Trump administration’s broader “America250” celebrations, which also include a Grand Prix race on the National Mall in August and a UFC event on the South Lawn of the White House in June, Fox News reported.

The White House posted a video on X, sharing a glimpse of the commemorative passport.

Speaking to Fox News, State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said: “As the United States celebrates America’s 250th anniversary in July, the State Department is preparing to release a limited number of specially designed US passports to commemorate this historic occasion.”

Pigott said the passports would feature customised artwork and enhanced imagery while retaining “the same security features that make the US Passport one of the most secure documents in the world.”

A State Department official also told Fox News Digital that the new design would be available to “any American citizen” applying for a passport during the rollout and would continue for as long as supplies last.

However, the commemorative passports will only be available through the Washington Passport Agency, with the launch expected to coincide with the 250th anniversary celebrations in July.
