Main suspect in Saskatchewan stabbing rampage reportedly dead

The main suspect in the recent Saskatchewan stabbing rampage in Saskatchewan, Myles Sanderson has reportedly died shortly after being captured.

After being arrested Wednesday afternoon, Myles Sanderson was taken into police custody near Rosthern, Sask., at about 3:30 p.m. CST Wednesday, according to RCMP. 

Saskatchewan RCMP issued an emergency alert around 3:00 p.m. CST, about a person with a knife traveling in a vehicle, last seen in Wakaw, about 90 kilometers northeast of Saskatoon.

10 people were dead and another 18 injured at 13 different crime scenes in the stabbing rampage in the James Smith Cree Nation area and in the nearby village of Weldon, Sask. 

A Search by the authorities had been going on Sanderson since Sunday.

Sanderson was charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and breaking and entering.
