IBNS-CMEDIA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday assured the nation that those behind the NEET paper leak incident will not be spared by the government.

He accused the opposition of politicising the issue.

Modi was addressing the Rajya Sabha while responding to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address in the Upper House when he said: “The President mentioned the paper leak issue in her speech. I expected the entire house to rise above politics and discuss the issue.”

“However, the issue was politicised,” he said.

The Indian PM said: ” I assure all of you that those who cheated on you and your aspirations will not be spared by us. I promise the youth of my country that we will strictly punish those who have played with their future.”

President mentioned paper leak issue in her address

President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday said the central government is committed to the investigation into the paper leaks in the NEET-UG examination and the guilty will be punished, media reports said.

Murmu said this during his address to the joint session of Parliament.

She said, “The government is committed to give the youth opportunities to prove their talent, be it government admission or examination. The hindrance to it is not acceptable.”

The NEET-UG exam, taken by nearly 24 lakh aspiring medical students, was held on May 5, and the results were released on June 4.

Despite the National Testing Agency (NTA)’s efforts to manage the situation, allegations of a widespread leak continued with protests and legal actions nationwide.

The Supreme Court also got involved, slamming the NTA for its handling of the issue.
