Toronto/CMEDIA: As part of Hot Docs Festival 2024 running from April 25 to May 5, Hot Docs has reportedly announced its 2024 Industry Conference and Market set to unfold at Toronto’s historic Hart House from April 29 to May 2,

Responding to current needs of filmmakers of all levels, Hot Docs moves away from the traditional tiered system in launching this year the new All-IN pass, a streamlined Industry all-access pass that is both richer and more impactful.

Hot Docs is also centralizing all Industry activities in one location, University of Toronto’s historic Hart House.

Generously supported by Presenting Forum Partner Canada Media Fund, Hot Docs Forum is the international financing event dedicated to securing co-productions and funding for feature-length documentaries.

19 projects representing 18 countries who will pitch to international decision makers and members of the documentary community would be reviewed in 2024 Hot Docs Forum.

A Wild Card pitch will also be selected live at the Forum.

Selected projects will also partake in Hot Docs Deal Maker, an exclusive one-on-one pitch meeting program, which includes an additional 40 projects.

Deal Maker is supported by Telefilm Canada, Ontario Creates, and the City of Toronto.

Astra Taylor, well-known filmmaker, author and organizer would present a keynote session to kick off the 2024 Hot Docs Conference and Market by engaging in an illuminating conversation hosted by Brett Story, renowned writer, geographer, and filmmaker behind the Sundance award-winning film Union.

Open to both Industry and public passholders, this session gives insights into artistic practices, sources of inspiration, political commitments, and navigating crises.

The 2024 Conference will present renowned director Nisha Pahuja, Executive Producer Geeta Sondhi, and the masterminds behind the marketing and distribution campaign of this Academy Award-nominated film ‘To Kill A Tiger’ would discuss the showcasing of compelling stories that leave a lasting impact.

Furthermore, the  2024’s Industry Conference  and Market will introduce Hot Takes, a new series of short-format sessions, the full schedule of which will be announced on April 10, 2024.

A not-for-profit charitable organization, Hot Docs is committed to advancing the art of documentary and supporting opportunities for independent filmmakers.
