Washington DC/IBNS-CMEDIA: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday bought a new Tesla in a show of support for the company CEO Elon Musk whose firm is facing a backlash after the billionaire supported the Republican’s government.
Trump bought a shiny red Tesla where he got in along with Musk, who helped the President pick his model.
The White House wrote on X, “Get in, patriots—we have a country to save. @ElonMusk helps President Trump pick his new @Tesla!”
Lauding the billionaire businessman, Trump said, “Number one, it’s a great product, as good as it gets—and number two, because
@ElonMusk has devoted his energy and his life to doing this and I think he has been treated very unfairly…”
“Wow! That’s beautiful… everything is computer,” said Trump as he got into the driver’s seat.
The Tesla shares have tanked after Musk, who actively campaigned for the Republican in November 5, 2024 elections, joined the Trump administration to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Several anti-DOGE protesters gathered outside Tesla stores to agitate against the billionaire.
Some of the protests had also turned violent in recent times.
