Mumbai/IBNS-CMEDIA: Bomb threats reportedly targeting Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa bungalow in Mumbai and the venue for Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming concert have prompted security checks, with police finding nothing suspicious at the locations inspected, according to media reports.

The threats were allegedly sent by email to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Citing the Free Press Journal, News18 reported that the communication named Bachchan’s residence in Mumbai’s Juhu area and the venue for Dosanjh’s scheduled performance on November 27.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Maneesh Kalwaniya reportedly confirmed that the BMC had received the threatening email. Authorities subsequently carried out security checks at the locations mentioned in the message.

Police conduct security checks

According to the reports, police found nothing suspicious during their inspections.

The identity of the person or people responsible for sending the email remains unknown, and authorities have not established whether the threats were credible.

The report also stated that schools in Mumbai’s Dadar area had received threats, although further details about those communications were not immediately available.

The reported threats have drawn attention to security arrangements surrounding prominent personalities and major entertainment events in Mumbai. Bachchan’s Jalsa bungalow is located in Juhu, while the concert venue was reportedly named in the same email.

Diljit Dosanjh’s Mumbai concert scheduled for Nov 27

Dosanjh is scheduled to perform in Mumbai on November 27 as part of his AURA India Tour.

The reported threat to the concert venue comes amid preparations for the singer’s upcoming performances.

The Mumbai development is separate from the recent uncertainty surrounding his October 30 concert in New Delhi.

Earlier reports suggested that Delhi Police had withheld permission for the show over concerns about security and crowd management.

However, concert organiser BookMyShow Live subsequently clarified that the Delhi performance had not been cancelled.

According to the organiser, permission had initially been withheld pending additional safety, traffic and crowd-management arrangements during the festive season.

Following discussions with Delhi Police and the submission of a revised plan, the permission was reconsidered and issued.

The organiser confirmed that the Delhi concert would proceed as scheduled.

Threat reports follow recent firing incident

The latest development also follows a firing incident reported near actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area on October 18.

According to News18, investigators have been examining whether the accused initially intended to target another prominent personality before allegedly shifting their focus to Shroff.

The Mumbai Crime Branch reportedly told a court that the firing was allegedly carried out at the behest of Anil Pandit, whom investigators have described as an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

These allegations form part of the ongoing investigation and have not been established by a court.

The reported email threats involving Bachchan’s residence and Dosanjh’s concert venue remain a separate matter.

Police have conducted precautionary checks at the locations identified in the communication, with no suspicious objects reportedly found.
