Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt starrer Hindi film Gangubai Kathiawadi is having a dream run at the box office as ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s creation earned 39.12 crores in just three days.
The film, which had earned Rs. 10.5 crore on the opening day (Feb 25), saw a big jump in collections over the weekend (Rs. 13.32 crore on Saturday and Rs. 15.3 crores on Sunday).
Gangubai Kathiawadi is the first project where Bhatt has collaborated with ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The film is a real-life story of brothel owner Gangubai Kathiawdi, who used to live in the Kamathipura area of Mumbai.
Bhatt plays the lead role of Gangubai in the film.
