IBNS-CMEDIA: An American man dressed as Spider-Man has won widespread praise online after stopping to help a wheelchair user safely cross a busy intersection in Arkansas.
The heartwarming act was captured on camera, and the masked Good Samaritan was later identified as Christopher Hellenthal.
Video footage shared by the Jonesboro Police Department showed Hellenthal jumping out of a red car to assist a man in a wheelchair who was struggling to cross the road at an intersection.
Speaking to ABC News, Hellenthal explained that he was dressed as the iconic Marvel superhero because he was on his way to work at a trampoline park, where he portrays Spider-Man and entertains children.

“Anyone could wear the mask, and I know Aunt May, she said, ‘There’s a hero in all of us,'” Hellenthal told ABC News, referring to the fictional aunt of Spider-Man’s alter ego, Peter Parker.
Reflecting on his admiration for the character, he added: “I’ve always loved Spider-Man. Going to school, just trying to balance everything out, and he doesn’t do that, but he still stays strong. That always inspired me to be like Peter Parker, be like Spider-Man, and represent what he stands for the best way that I can.”
The video quickly gained traction on social media, with many users applauding Hellenthal’s selfless act.
One user wrote on X, “Heroes DO exist! LOL.”
The touching moment has since been widely shared, with many praising Hellenthal for proving that real-life heroes don’t always wear capes—sometimes, they wear a Spider-Man suit.
