Toronto: The advance vote period for Toronto’s municipal election lasted for eight consecutive days from Oct 7 to 14 during which 115,911 voters visited one of 50 advance voting places across the city to vote, a 6.75 percent decrease from 2018, a news release reported.
Compared to 2018, the 2022 advance vote included three more days to vote in person and took place during the Thanksgiving long weekend to allow more time to vote and to provide post-secondary students home from school the opportunity to vote in person.
On election day, Monday, October 24, 1,460 voting locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m during which voters would be encouraged to use the MyVote web application to facilitate voters to find their ward and map, see the candidates running in their ward, to know if they are on the voters’ list as well as when and where to vote, view. download or print their Voter Information Card and view a sample of their ward ballot.
Although a Voter Information Card is not required to vote, it will make the voting experience more efficient.
