IBNS-CMEDIA: Open AI boss Sam Altman has said his company is limiting the feature since the immense popularity across the globe to use ChatGPT to generate images in Studio Ghibli style has put additional pressure on server load.

“We are getting things under control, but you should expect new releases from openai to be delayed, stuff to break, and for service to sometimes be slow as we deal with capacity challenges,” he posted on his X handle.

“Working as fast we can to really get stuff humming; if anyone has GPU capacity in 100k chunks we can get asap please call!,” he said.

One March 27, just a day after the feature was launched, Altman said the widely used trend was effecting their graphics processing unit.

He wrote on his handle: “It’s super fun seeing people love images in chatgpt. but our GPUs are melting.”

“We are going to temporarily introduce some rate limits while we work on making it more efficient. hopefully won’t be long!” he said,

Altman on Tuesday announced ChatGPT’s latest image creator, which can generate recreations of Studio Ghibli art, is now available to every user for free, days after the trend went viral.

Social media users, ranging from celebrities to even diplomatic mission, have used the trend which has gripped the attention of internet users across the globe like a wildfire.

“Chatgpt image gen now rolled out to all free users!” Sam Altman posted on X.

The image generator is powered by  OpenAI’s GPT-4o model.
