York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are reportedly linking a suspect vehicle to four shootings at cinemas across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including York Region.
Police were called to a theatre in the area of Highway 7 and East Beaver Creek, in Richmond Hill,On January 24, 2024, after an employee arrived for work and found the glass front entry doors had been shot.
The same day, a similar call was made to the police in Vaughan to a theatre in the area of Highway 7 and Weston Road.
It is believed by the investigators that the same suspects are involved in both occurrences in York Region and in similar shootings that occurred at cinemas in Toronto and Peel Region on the same night.
An appeal has been made to police for anyone with information or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
Investigators would also like to speak with anyone with video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area around the time of these incidents.
