Guwahati/IBNS-CMEDIA: Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s blistering half-century powered Rajasthan Royals to a commanding eight-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2026 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Suryavanshi smashed a breathtaking 52 off just 17 balls, guiding the Royals to comfortably chase down a modest target of 128 with nearly eight overs to spare.
The left-hander, also the youngest debutant in IPL history, struck four boundaries and five sixes in a dazzling display of power-hitting.
Earlier, the Royals bundled out the Super Kings for 127 in 19.4 overs after opting to field first. Jamie Overton top-scored for Chennai with 43 off 36 balls in an otherwise underwhelming batting performance.
The Royals’ bowling unit dominated proceedings, with Jofra Archer (2/19) and Nandre Burger (2/26) ripping through the top order as Chennai slumped to 74/7 at one stage.
Ravindra Jadeja (2/18) chipped in with the ball to restrict the Royals’ batting lineup to a manageable target, but it proved far from enough in the end.
