Toronto/IBNS-CMEDIA: The Consulate General of India in Toronto celebrated International Women’s Day in partnership with the Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women (EHCW), recognising women’s achievements while highlighting support systems available for Indian women in need.
Addressing the gathering, Acting Consul General Kapidhwaja Pratap Singh spoke about the Consulate’s continued engagement with the community.
He also introduced the Consulate’s One Stop Centre for Women (OSCW), a round-the-clock service designed to assist women in distress by providing counselling and resources related to legal guidance, financial aid, medical care and safe shelter.
The event brought together community leaders, civic partners, representatives from law enforcement, and speakers from community services and diverse professional fields. Participants shared insights on women’s safety, empowerment and overall well-being.
The programme received a strong response and was well attended by members of the Indian diaspora, reflecting growing community engagement on issues related to women’s support and empowerment.
