Toronto/CMEDIA: The City of Toronto officially launched today the 2025 golf season announcing the addition of two indoor golf simulators and programming for seniors, women and youth.
“The City of Toronto’s golf courses provide an accessible and affordable way for families and seniors to enjoy the sport — these valuable public assets also offer more than just golf – they are very popular destinations for hiking, dog walking and other unique recreational programming,” said Deputy Mayor Mike Colle (Eglinton-Lawrence), Vice-Chair of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee in a news release.
The City’s five golf courses are all open including Dentonia Park, Don Valley, Humber Valley, Scarlett Woods and Tam O’Shanter.
This year’s new improvements include two new golf simulators that will be open year-round and a new full cart path at the Tam O’Shanter course
Special programming for 2025 include
Each golf course offers a variety of special programming for golfers of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned players, as well as families.
Programs and events this year include:
- 30 free learn-to-golf clinics for juniors, women and seniors
- 40 free community event
- 45 Junior Summer Camps for youth seven to 14 years of age
- League-play at all five courses including women’s-only leagues at all five courses
In addition, recreational opportunities would be offered at the multi-use facilities such as movie nights, holiday parties, disc golf, hiking trails and dog walking in the winter months.
Golf’s growing popularity in Toronto
Growing in popularity in Toronto with a record-high of approximately 248,000 rounds of golf played in 2024. Golf — with each course with its own characteristics, ensures a unique experience for golfers of all levels — continues to attract locals to the City’s courses because of their affordability, quality and ease of access from transit.
Reservations and accessibility
Golfers are encouraged to book kick-off times up to seven days in advance through the City’s website.
Rentals are available from the pro shop at each clubhouse with Humber Valley providing an accessible golf cart at no cost enables golfers with mobility needs to request when booking a kick-off time.
Kick-off times vary throughout the season, with starting times staggered 10 minutes apart. As daylight hours increase, tee times will adjust to accommodate play from dawn to dusk.
