Toronto/CMEDIA: The City of Toronto joined by Councillor Paula Fletcher (Toronto-Danforth), Chair of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee have officially opened the 2026 golf season at Dentonia Park Golf Course.
“Opening the season at Dentonia Golf Course is very special to me, as it’s a course I play regularly. Every time I’m here, I see people of all ages and skill levels on the fairways from young people, seniors, women and beginners to more seasoned golfers, learning from one another and sharing a love of the game,” Councillor Paula Fletcher (Toronto-Danforth), Chair of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee has said.
Included in the City’s golf courses are Dentonia Park, Don Valley, Humber Valley, Scarlett Woods and Tam O’Shanter.
While celebrating its 70th anniversary with the City, Don Valley Golf Course is restoring the course’s original first-tee deck to commemorate the milestone. Tam O’Shanter and Dentonia Park golf courses’ clubhouse renovations have improved their user experience and accessibility standards. Golfers are are also facilitated to enjoy a renovated patio at Scarlett Woods golf course
Programming highlights for 2026:
Offering a wide range of programs, each golf course is designed to welcome golfers of all ages, abilities and experience levels, as well as families and community groups.
Highlights of this season include:
- Discounted senior and junior green fees
- 30 free learn-to-golf clinics for juniors, women and seniors
- 40 free community events
- 45 Junior Summer Camps for youth seven to 14 years of age
- League-play including women’s-only leagues at all five courses
Golf’s growing popularity amongst youth in Toronto
Golf continues to grow in popularity in Toronto with another consecutive record-breaking high of approximately 250,000 rounds of golf played in 2025. Junior memberships continue to increase with more than 15,000 rounds of golf played by Junior Members in 2025.
Locals are attracted to the City’s courses because of their affordability, quality and ease of access from transit. Each golf course has its own characteristics, ensuring a unique experience for golfers of all levels.
Reservations and accessibility
The City’s website enables Tee times booking up to seven days in advance.
“As Dentonia Park Golf Course tees off on a new season, I’m wishing all those in the community an enjoyable and successful season on the green,” Councillor Parthi Kandavel (Scarborough Southwest) has said.
Equipment rentals are available from the pro shop at each clubhouse. Humber Valley offers a complimentary accessible golf cart for golfers with mobility needs which can be requested at time of booking.
Tee times are spaced at 10-minute intervals and adjust throughout the season as daylight hours increase.
