Toronto/CMEDIA: An international design competition is being launched today by the Toronto city for a new park in Liberty Village, representing the City’s continued investment in high-quality design and great public spaces.

Landscape architecture and design teams in this two-stage competition from around the world are intended to reimagine a site located at 34 Hanna Ave.

Currently serving as a parking lot and a temporary pop-up park, the site will be transformed into a vibrant green space for the community.

Teams are being invited to submit their team qualifications in the first stage of the competition to the City by Friday, Nov 28.

The criteria for eligibility of these design teams will be based on their qualifications, work experience and design approach to the park site.

After that, five teams will be shortlisted and invited to submit conceptual designs for the new park.
Before the selection of the winning design by the winning team, design ideas will be presented to a design jury and the community, alongside feedback from a Community Advisory Committee (CAC).
