IBNS-CMEDIA: The HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata, organized “Blood Club Education Conclave”, that offered a focused platform for showcasing the newest breakthroughs in blood cancer treatment

It united renowned haematooncology specialists, bone marrow transplant (BMT) physicians and survivors, creating a space for dialogue, awareness building, and an insight into the rapidly evolving therapeutic landscape in cancer treatment.

The conclave commenced with addressing the media, followed by an insightful panel discussion featuring senior clinicians from HCG Cancer Centre’s Haemato-Onco & BMT department along with some eminent external specialists.

The discussions held at the conclave focused on boosting clinical awareness, fostering collaborative learning, and deepening understanding of evolving blood cancer management practices, with emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration and patient-centric care.

A key highlight of the conclave was the presentation of cutting-edge treatment technologies, including CliniMACS and CAR-T Cell Therapy. Experts shared insights into how these advanced therapies are transforming outcomes by enabling more precise, personalized, and effective treatment options for patients with complex blood disorders.

Another compelling aspect of the conclave was the participation of blood cancer survivors, who shared real-world recovery stories highlighting the importance of timely diagnosis and access to advanced treatment. Three patients shared their journeys – one survivor from Kolkata attended in person, while survivors from Mumbai and Myanmar joined virtually via video link – adding a powerful human dimension to the scientific discussions.

Gurvinder Singh, Chief Operating Officer, HCG EKO Cancer Center, Kolkata, said, “The Blood Club Education Conclave reflects HCG’s commitment to advancing clinical knowledge, encouraging collaboration among specialists, and amplifying patient voices. By bringing clinicians, survivors, and the media together on a single platform, we aim to build greater awareness around modern blood cancer treatments and reinforce hope for patients and their families.”

Dr. Joydeep Chakraborty, HOD & Senior Consultant – Haemato Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant, HCG Cancer Center, Kolkata, said, “With rapid medical advancements, such as CAR-T Cell Therapy and CliniMACS, the treatment of blood cancers has entered into a transformative phase.
