Panorama India commemorates India Day 2025 at Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square

Toronto/CMEDIA: India Day 2025 celebrations were reportedly hosted by Panorama India at  the Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto  on 17 August, 2025 to commemorate India’s 78 Independence Day.

Lively parade, visuals, ambience, and flavors of India transformed The Nathan Phillips Square into a festive hub with The India Day Parade, organized by Panorama India attracting a large turnout. 

Organized by Panorama India with the support of the Consulate General of India, Toronto, The Festival and Grand Parade organizers ensured a memorable parade for every Indian to cherish. 

Although thunderstorms and showers for the entire day were forecasted by the weather, the Indian Diaspora, irrespective of ages, gathered into the heart of the city cheering and wearing tricolors putting out a splendid display of ‘Unity in Diversity’.

The event kicked off with the Opening Ceremony, showcasing the largest Indian Flag, singing the Canadian and Indian national anthems by 150 kids of Panorama India. 

A special Unity in Diversity song that was written, composed and directed by the Panorama Board members created especially for India Day 2025 was presented by the kids.

The Acting Consulate General of India in Toronto, Mr. Kapidhwaja Pratap Singh, graced the occasion with his presence.

Emphasizing the long-standing relationship between Canada and India, all the dignitaries present built on shared traditions of democracy, strong ties of friendship & multiculturalism. 

They praised the cultural diversity and democratic values of India as well as the contribution of the Indian diaspora towards the Canadian economy.

The Annual Magazine published featuring our sponsors, supporters, media partners & event updates was also launched during the opening ceremony of the event.

Mr. Kapidhwaja Pratap Singh remarked that Canada and India both believe in restoring the multicultural environment promoting the culture and heritage that various communities inherit from generations. 

Panorama India Chaiarperson Ms. Vaidehi Raut welcomied the VIP’s like Mayor of Toronto, Ms. Olivia Chow, MPP Deepak Anand, OPP officials, Toronto Police, Veterans of India, VIP officials Sponsors and a large number of prominent Indo-Canadians & other Nationalities who were present.

The cultural segment consisted of phenomenal performances showcasing the culture & heritage of India.

 The Panorama India float  was joined by The Parade Marshals, Ms. Sharayu Date, Bollywood and Hindustani Classical Singer, Mrs. Pooja Walia – Mrs. Globe Curve, Mrs. Mili Bhaskar – Mrs. Earth ‘25, Mrs. Savita Rathor- Mrs. Canada World – 1 Runner Up and Ms. Spoorti Sridhar, Ms. North America World Universal with full energy and vigor. 


The parade was represented by all the 28 States of India that depicted the culture and heritage of the largest democracy in the world, with desi music, dance, and cultural artifacts.

In addition to the floats, many Indo- Canadian organizations joined the parade as marching partners with their banners, flags of India and Canada, chanting slogans of Unity in Diversity.

TD Canada Group was the premium sponsor of the event. Representatives of all corporate sponsors TD, SBI Canada, ICICI Bank, MTR & Maharaja Bhog were also present. 

The historic event was carried out successfully with the guidance of the City of Toronto, Toronto Police, other official authorities and NGOs.

Panorama India is a not-for-profit umbrella organization established in 1999, that bonds various Indo-Canadian organizations and groups, to celebrate and depict unity in diversity with their rich culture and heritage. The organization unites the Indian diaspora on a cultural platform to exhibit and showcase their arts and culture. Panorama India also strives for a better understanding between India and Canada to foster bi-lateral relations through culture.
