Los Angeles/IBNS: Hollywood star Will Smith left the audience shocked when he hit Chris Rock in the face on stage at the Oscars after the comedian made a joke about the actor’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith on Sunday.
The incident started when Chris referred to Pinkett Smith’s shaved hairdo and said: “Jada, can’t wait for GI Jane 2.
Smith walked up on the stage and appeared to hit the comedian on his face.
Meanwhile, Smith won the best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in “King Richard”.
Smith apologized for his actions while accepting the prize.
He was quoted as saying by BBC: “I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to apologize to my all my fellow nominees.”
