With Montreal’s reportedly climbing humidex toward 40 Environment Canada issued a heat warning on Tuesday morning for Montreal including Gatineau and the Lanaudière region north of Montreal.
A heat warning is issued by Environment Canada when very hot or humid conditions may present a high risk of heat-related illnesses, such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
The outdoor activities should be scheduled during the coolest parts of the day, recommends the agency in order to minimize those risks.
High temperatures are being forecast by Environment Canada until Sunday, but the specific humidex values for the rest of the week are not yet clear.
