Mumbai/IBNS-CMEDIA: After a reasonably slow start on January 25, Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor starrer Siddharth Anand directorial film, Fighter, has picked up its pace in the box office on the Republic Day on Friday.
The film, which opened to Rs. 24.60 crores on the inaugural day, has collected Rs. 41.20 crores on Friday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on X.
Fighter, which has garnered positive reviews, has references to the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, where 40 Indian soldiers were martyred, and the Indian Air Force (IAF)’s air strike which was a counter-response to the militants based in India’s hostile neighbour Pakistan.
The action-packed film features Hrithik, Deepika and Anil Kapoor as the Indian Air Force (IAF) officers.
Apart from the bonding as IAF officers, Hrithik and Deepika are shown as romancing in the film, which has not been allowed to release in all Gulf countries except UAE.
Fighter is the first film where Hrithik and Deepika, two enormously popular actors of the country, shared screen space together.
Siddharth had previously directed Hrithik in two of his films, Bang Bang and War while Deepika in Bachna Ae Haseeno and Pathaan.
