CMEDIA: Thousands of Honda hybrid vehicles in Canada, reportedly have receivedy recalls due to an increased risk of fire, and crash.

A recall had been issued Wednesday for Honda Canada for about 61,000 2023-25 Honda vehicles due to a defective high-pressure fuel pump part that may have cracks as the component can cause, the recall said causing the leakage of fuel and smell while idling or driving, increasing the risk of fire leading to crash or injury..

The affected models are:  2023-2024 Honda Accord and Accord Hybrid;  2023-2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid; and 2025 Honda Civic Sedan and Civic Sedan Hybrid.

Registered owners of the affected models would reportedly be contacted by the company by mail in early December to advise them to visit authorized Honda dealerships for a free inspection. Consumers may get a replacement of the faulty fuel pump if necessary, Honda Canada said.

Another recall said Transport Canada that Honda hybrid CR-V (FHEV) 2023 models may have faulty high-voltage batteries.

Following the recall’s first issue on Oct. 3, it was updated earlier this week as  some of the batteries’ negative terminals, says the federal agency may be defective and break, which could cause sparks and may lead to fire or injuries.

Owners  would be notified  by mail, said Honda and advise them to take their cars to a dealership to replace the batteries.

Honda can be contacted by vehicle owners for recalls at 1-888-946-6329 for more information, or by visiting Honda’s website  to check if they are affected.

Yet another recall was issued last week by Honda and Acura with warning that a steering-related issue could increase a driver’s risk of crash.
