Toronto/CMEDIA: The 2025 interim property tax bills, has reportedly been issued today by the City of Toronto, the first of two annual tax bills sent to property owners.
As one of the ways the City funds essential services, property taxes keep Toronto running including emergency services, public transit, road maintenance, parks and community programs.
Property owners not signed up for pre-authorized payment are required to make their interim bill payments by Monday, March 3, Tuesday, April 1 and Thursday, May 1.
The 2025 final tax bill will be mailed in May, with the last three instalments due on Wednesday, July 2, Friday, August 1 and Tuesday, September 2.
Based on the selected instalment plan, the due dates vary for Property owners enrolled in the Pre-Authorized Tax Payment program.
The first payments cover the interim property tax bill and the remaining payments are for the final property tax bill issued in May.
- Two-instalment plan: The interim tax bill payment is due on Monday, March 3. The final property tax bill is due on Wednesday, July 2.
- Six-instalment plan: The interim tax bill is paid in three instalments on Monday, March 3, Tuesday, April 1 and Thursday, May 1. After receiving the final property tax bill in May, the remaining three instalments are due on Wednesday, July 2, Friday, August 1 and Tuesday, September 2.
- 11-instalment plan: The interim tax bill is paid over five instalments on Tuesday, February 18, Monday, March 17, Tuesday, April 15, Thursday, May 15 and Monday, June 16. After receiving the final property tax bill in May, the remaining six instalments are due on Tuesday, July 15, Friday, August 15, Monday, September 15, Wednesday, October 15, Monday, November 17 and Monday, December 15.
A special meeting would be held by the Toronto City Council on Tuesday, Feb 11 to discuss the proposed 2025 Budget property tax increase.
Information about the Vacant Home Tax program would be included in this year’s interim property tax bill highlighting the Wed, April 30 deadline to declare a property’s 2024 occupancy status.
Offering a paperless billing option for property tax payments, The City enables residents to register for email notifications of their property tax bills.
Digital property tax and utility bills can be viewed, printed and downloaded by Customers through a secure online platform.

Payments must be received by the City by the due date to avoid late fees and penalties.
Property owners enrolled in pre-authorized payment plans can prevent any payment issues, by ensuring their account information is up to date.

Property tax account details can be accessed by Property owners through the online Property Tax Lookup tool or by speaking to a customer service representative at the 311 Tax & Utility Inquiry Line, available Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
