Chennai/IBNS-CMEDIA: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan threw open his mask, kissed his wife Gauri Khan, hugged his three children- Aryan, Suhana and AbRam- bursting into celebrations for Kolkata Knight Riders’ third IPL win on Sunday.

As the victory was almost certain with one run to add, Shah Rukh, who attended the final days after he was hospitalised due to heat stroke, stood up to soak in the moment of IPL triumph in a season, where his franchise was the most consistent.

As Ventakesh Iyer somehow managed to get the last run for the win, Shah Rukh kissed his wife as the KKR brigade and support staff ran down to the pitch to seize the moment.

In another video which went on social media, Suhana, who was equally emotional, hugged Shah Rukh and later his two sons, AbRam and then Aryan joined them.

Before hugging her father, an emotional Suhana was seen mouthing the words to SRK, “Are you happy? I am so happy!”

The 58-year-old superstar, who saw the highs and lows of the franchise over the last 16 years, mixed up with all KKR players and support staff and joined the celebration.

Before taking the victory lap with his entire family, Shah Rukh hugged and kissed KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir, who led the franchise to two IPL trophies as captain in 2012 and 2014.

Gambhir, who was working for Lucknow Super Giants, was roped in as the mentor ahead of this IPL season.

In an allround performance, KKR outplayed SRH by 8 wickets on Sunday to lift the IPL trophy for the third time.

Right from the beginning, KKR dominated the game picking SRH wickets at regular intervals giving no chance to the opponent to even smell a comeback.

The pacers- led by Mitchell Starc, Andre Russell and Harshit Rana- did most of the damage to SRH batting picking 7 wickets in total leaving the rest for the spinners.

Rattled by KKR’s bowling, SRH could just add 113, a below par score, on board.

Venkatesh Iyer’s unbeaten 52 from 26 balls and Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s 39 from 32 made it look for KKR a cakewalk to hunt down the nominal target.
