Vancouver/CMEDIA: Effective Fri, Dec. 19, 2025, reservation of a vehicle day-use pass by people would be mandatory to visit Mount Seymour Park during the winter.
Being required daily until Jan. 4, 2026, the passes will be required only on weekends and holidays until March 29, 2026.
Passes are not required after 4 p.m, and people with a valid Mount Seymour ski resort pass do not require a BC Parks day-use pass.
Two days prior to a planned visit, day-use passes can be booked online starting at 7 a.m.: https://reserve.bcparks.ca/dayuse/
Views of Vancouver and facilities for skiing, snowshoeing, tubing and tobogganing are provided by North Vancouver’s Mount Seymour Park. Approximately one million people visit the park each year and congestion in the busy areas are reduced by the limited number of passes providing a more predictable and enjoyable experience.
The passes will be checked by parks staff who will also provide safety information to visitors. Due to limited cell phone service, people would be required to print or have a screenshot of their pass and QR code on their mobile device before arriving at the park. People are recommended and encouraged to cancel their passes if they do not intend to use them.
Aiming to preserve the natural and cultural values of Indigenous Peoples, the BC Parks Day-Use Pass Program delivers high-quality recreation experiences in some of the province’s most popular parks, including Mount Seymour.
To help improve people’s experiences in the North Shore mountains, day-use passes and traffic management have been used since 2020. Setting daily limits on visitor use is one way the Province, park operators, volunteers and visitors work together to care for parks and ensure people can continue enjoying these places safely and securely.
